Forsyth & Brown, created in 2013, was a natural progression of a 15 year design partnership between Jodi Forsyth and Amy Brown. The Jackson interior design partners have a global clientele of people with widely varying experiences and tastes. Their hands on approach to all aspects of the business ensure that all of the details will fall into place.
WHAT GEOGRAPHIC AREA DO YOU SERVE?
Amy – Teton County, Wyoming, which encompasses Jackson, Wilson, Hoback Junction, Moose, and Moran. We have also had the privilege to work in other locations such as Boca Raton, Florida, Malibu, California, Atlanta, Georgia, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and Seven Mile Island.
Jodi – While most of our projects are here at home, we have had the opportunity to work all around the country. It is always fun to work in a different style. I find it creatively rejuvenating.
HOW DO YOU SEE DESIGN CHANGING IN THE NEXT 5 TO 10 YEARS?
Jodi – This is what makes our field so exciting. Design is always changing; it’s dynamic. I always say that we are in the fashion business, and it is important to keep up on the trends. Having said that, it is equally important to keep our designs timeless and classic.
WHAT PROJECT ARE YOU MOST EXCITED ABOUT RIGHT NOW?
Amy – A timber frame remodel. The bones of the house are more rustic and casual, but our client is sophisticated and feminine and loves pretty things. I love the challenge of the mix, creating a design that reflects the client while respecting the soul of the structure.
DESCRIBE YOUR PROCESS.
Jodi – We always start with getting to know our clients, their families, and how the home will be used and enjoyed. From there, we like to create a palette of materials to pin down the overall personality. Once that is established, the decisions become easier.
WHAT MAKES THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN GOOD DESIGN AND GREAT DESIGN?
Amy – Great design is beautiful and functional. And that can mean different things to different people. Getting to the heart of how a family functions and then designing in a way that always looks beautiful is the goal.
WHAT DO YOU ENJOY MOST ABOUT HELPING PEOPLE CREATE A HOME THAT REFLECTS THEIR LIFESTYLE?
Amy – Taking the time to really get to know our clients and understand how their families function. Learning what is beautiful to them and then creating spaces that reflect that.
DO YOU HAVE A FAVORITE SPORTOR ACTIVITY?
Jodi – I am happiest when I am out hiking in the mountains on a beautiful summer day. I love the challenge and it reminds me of how fortunate I am to live in this beautiful valley.
WHAT IS SURE TO MAKE YOU LAUGH?
Amy – A good pun.
WHAT’S ON THETOP OF YOUR LIST FOR A GREAT GETAWAY?
Jodi – I am hooked on inn-to-inn hiking trips. They allow you to get off the beaten path and really explore the culture of an area.
FAVORITE SEASON?
Amy – Fall. I love the warm days and cool nights. The quality and texture of the colors reds and golds against the evergreens is amazing. The glow of the afternoon sun can’t be replicated. And, it means winter is on the way, my second favorite season.
Design is always changing; it’s dynamic… Having said that, it is equally important to keep our designs timeless and classic.

WHAT DO YOU ENJOY MOST ABOUT LIVING AND WORKING WHERE YOU DO?
Amy – The lifestyle. The accessibility to the outdoors as well as great food and a wide variety of events. There is always an adventure waiting.
Jodi – There is so much inspiration to be taken in from outside. With such beautiful views, it is important to let nature become an integral part of our designs. We are lucky to be able to draw inspiration from such an amazing palette.
