Matt Grant, CEO
What services do you offer?
We specialize in home automation, house music, TVs, whole home Wi-Fi, dedicated theaters, lighting control, automated window treatments, security, surveillance, life safety systems, and custom technology solutions for existing and new construction homes.
What geographic area do you serve?
We have offices in Kalispell and Whitefish, and also serve Bigfork, Lakeside, Rollins, Polson, Eureka, West Glacier, and all of the Flathead Valley.
When did you know that you wanted to go into this field, and what motivated you?
I first discovered my love for high-end audio systems at age 18 when I stepped into a Hi-Fi store in Salt Lake City and heard a world-class music system with songs I loved. As a musician, it sparked a passion to share that level of music and emotional experience with others. I ended up working for that same Hi-Fi store that eventually turned into a full home integration company. I’ve been designing and implementing custom technology systems for luxury homes for over 25 years with projects in Los Angeles, Park City, Aspen, New York, Nashville, Florida, Wyoming, and Montana.
What inspires you?
I’m inspired by witnessing people discover their passion and achieve excellence. In our business, this includes the craftspeople building incredible estates, subcontractors bringing homes together, designers creating beautiful spaces, and the 26 members of our team who help enhance these homes with technology that makes them more enjoyable and comfortable.
What project(s) are you most excited about right now?
I am excited about the level of design that is going in homes we are currently working on. It is much more in line with what I experienced in Aspen and Park City and that is exciting to be a part of as Whitefish matures.
Describe your process—how do you work with clients, contractors, designers, and architects?
Our process is centered around ensuring an incredible client experience and an exceptional end result. First, our senior system designers meet with our clients and their design/build team here at our showroom to review plans and discuss how they want technology to integrate into their homes and lifestyles.
We share new ideas and technology options within the showroom to help ensure they know their available options, and then our design team creates a system design based around that feedback. Once approved, our engineering and project management teams work through the design and prepare for the rough-in and installation of the systems as construction progresses. Finally, we hand off service to ensure that our clients always have someone to call for support and we are there at the ready.

Do you have favorite products you prefer or are known for?
We are very selective in the high-quality brand partners we represent. Some of our exclusive brands are from industry leaders like Lutron for lighting and shading, along with iconic Hi-Fi brands such as McIntosh and Sonus Faber. In fact, we are now the exclusive dealer for Bang & Olufsen in northwest Montana. You will see that soon in our Whitefish showroom!
What tricks of the trade have you learned over the years that you’d be willing to share with us?
The technology in your home is all dependent on the quality and stability of your network. This means that if your network and Wi-Fi are done correctly then your system is far more stable and enjoyable. It also helps with your Wi-Fi calling features on your cell phones here in Montana.
What word(s) do people use to describe your work?
I hope they use words like excellent, or beautiful, but our goal is always happy clients, first and foremost.
What is the most exciting new product or development in your field?
Intelligent lighting fixtures such as Lutron’s Ketra that we have in our Whitefish showroom are truly revolutionary and are changing the way we live in our homes. These lights match the color temperature of the natural light outside and are game-changing for mood and health. We are now offering lighting design for residential projects to ensure a seamless experience for our clients, and much of this stems from the advancement of modern lighting fixtures that now require programming to set up and tune to the room.
What music do you listen to when you work?
I am a singer/songwriter at heart so I love artists like Chris Stapleton, Zach Bryan, Tyler Childers, and John Mayer. I also find inspiration in some of the new Christian music coming out these days.
Do you have a favorite sport?
I love skiing and snowboarding with my son and our family in the winter and mountain biking in the summer.
What places in the world do you find most inspirational?
I love the mountains, so anywhere there is a mountain stream or meadow, or even a distant view reminds me of God’s creation and just how small we are.
Favorite season? Why?
Easy—fall. Campfires, chill in the air, autumn leaves, and the smell of winter coming. And flannel shirts can make their way back out.
Favorite trip?
The trip that changed our lives and led us here was when my wife and I, along with two of our three kids, left Nashville in an RV for over a year in 2018-2019 and traveled the U.S. until finding this little gem of a town called Whitefish, Montana. The rest is history….
