White-Glove Service for Your Valued Items
by Lori Williams
For premium concierge service handling estate and fine furniture installation, delivery, and storage, look no further than the new Flathead Valley company so named. Installation Delivery Storage (IDS) is an excellent resource for logistics and seamless execution of any size project, whether you’re building a new home, transporting precious cargo cross-country, needing turn-key setup and organization, or looking for storage during a remodel. IDS provides a safe, secure, and on-demand storage facility to hold and protect the integrity of your valued items. The company has extensive experience working with interior designers and realtors in private residences and showrooms, providing state-of-the-art installations and using only the highest quality materials.
IDS owner, Nilda Ruiz, is a problem-solver. When she began working for a design firm in Dallas 17 years ago, it didn’t take long for her to move from receptionist to managing the entire business. She worked with a programmer to create a specialized database system designed specifically for the firm. Five years in, she realized that there was a demand for warehouse space to receive, inspect, store, and organize estate furniture and fixtures for their exclusive clientele, so she and her husband acquired a warehouse in 2008, for that purpose. It quickly became a family-run operation as their three boys grew up working alongside them. One is now in the accounting department, another is a project manager, while the third is their in-house IT programmer. Longtime friends of the family have even left corporate jobs to come work for the Ruiz family. It speaks of their dedication and integrity. Fast-forward to a decade in which urban shuffle has increased exponentially—further exacerbated by a pandemic—and when client projects took her to Montana, she quickly realized that the same need existed in the Flathead Valley, and IDS soon expanded from its roots in Texas.

“We handle it all—the rugs, lamps, art, everything that is going to make this home beautiful. We will pick up and deliver any size project, from one piece to all the antiques, art, fine furniture, or memorabilia for an entire home or showroom installation.”

“Our scope is three-fold,” says Ruiz. “We handle everything from home goods to décor to artwork. Especially for homes being built of considerable square footage, a warehouse/holding facility is necessary when you are receiving and inspecting items like bedding, accessories, furniture, and lighting fixtures from estate managers and designers. We handle it all—the rugs, lamps, art, everything that is going to make this home beautiful. We will pick up and deliver any size project, from one piece to all the antiques, art, fine furniture, or memorabilia for an entire home or showroom installation.” IDS has the ability to create bills of lading as well, and works with over 200 freight line companies. For any directional move or remodel, they also offer packing and unpacking, streamlining, and organizing for any situation. Their Installation Specialists will install everything from bedroom sets to TV and wall mountings, to specialty pieces and more, without the client ever lifting a finger.
Ruiz is a perfectionist with a wealth of experience managing top-tier design and furnishings. Her warehouse team in Montana is well-versed and equipped to understand receiving and inspecting for damages, interior design urgencies, and the white-glove handling of valuable product. While Ruiz’s husband oversees the warehouses in Texas and Montana, she manages the budget, financials, and fluidity of every project. She reviews all contracts with vendors, products, and freight costs, and performs an analysis of each. “We open and log everything, discover any damages, and file ensuing claims,” explains Ruiz. “Clients and designers depend on us for any situation that arises regarding product, vendors, or logistics. For a designer who has ordered shipments from across the country, it is crucial to inspect everything. You only have 72 hours in which to file a damage claim. That is what we do.”
Overwhelming cross-country logistics do not intimidate Ruiz, who says she is pretty fearless. IDS recently had a furniture delivery up into a private residential tower space. In order to get the furniture up in the tower, the only way was to crate all the furniture and haul it up the outside and through a window. “It never crosses my mind that something can’t be done, or that something disastrous will happen, because I always find a solution for it,” says Ruiz. “I don’t ever say no. I find a way to make it happen. My husband likes to say that I’m the gas, and he’s the brake, but he just can’t stop me!”
Ruiz has been cultivating resources in the Flathead Valley including partnerships with different upholstery and restoration specialists to be able to restore and refinish antique furniture or fine art to its original state. They will facilitate any necessary repairs to any piece, because they’ve been trained in this industry that nothing goes out of the warehouse unless it’s of the same timeless quality as when it went in. “Our expectation is 100%,” says Ruiz. “We help our clients so they can walk into a beautiful home.” With white-glove service like this, you’re definitely in good hands.”
