of daily life.
WHJ is proud to help you define your dream garage by highlighting two local businesses who lead the garage industry in Central Oregon:

On Solid Ground:
Custom Coated Floors by Superior Garage Floors
Superior Garage Floors is a family-owned business based in Central Oregon. They work with many of the top builders in Bend, and their floors have been featured multiple times in the Central Oregon Tour of Homes. Their work can be found throughout the region, from residential garage floors to commercial kitchens, dog kennels and animal hospitals, airplane hangars, office buildings, department stores, and schools.
Owner Stan Morgan has called Central Oregon home for over 15 years. He’s an avid fly fisherman who loves the outdoor lifestyle. When he’s not working, he can be found by the Deschutes River enjoying the scenery. His connection to the place extends beyond his personal life to the way he runs his business. Superior Garage Floors cares about the people of Central Oregon. They deliver luxurious and reliable custom garage flooring as a matter of respect. Stan views this as a reflection of how much he cares for his community.
“We do what we say we’re going to do on time and on schedule. I want to be able to see my neighbors at concerts and festivals in downtown Bend or arts and crafts events in Sisters and feel good about talking with them, knowing we did a good job that they’re happy with.”
–Stan Morgan, Owner, Superior Garage Floors
Founded in 2005, Superior Garage Floors has always kept customer satisfaction as its top priority. Their crew is always on time and courteous, and they finish the job on time and in a professional manner. Morgan elaborates on how this priority drives the business: “We do what we say we’re going to do on time and on schedule. I want to be able to see my neighbors at concerts and festivals in downtown Bend or arts and crafts events in Sisters and feel good about talking with them, knowing we did a good job that they’re happy with.”
Superior Garage Floors works on both new builds and remodels. Their residential line includes three options: epoxy color flake floor coating, stained concrete, and polished concrete. Each is extremely durable and the choice between them mainly depends on the aesthetic a homeowner is seeking for the individual garage.
While concrete floors can stain and crack over time, Superior Garage Floors uses top-of-the-line products that are beautiful and extremely durable. Their floors resist most stains and are easy to clean with warm water and a simple solution. They are long-lasting and are meant to be enjoyed for many years.
Stan drives around with color chips and a full line of samples in his truck. Customers have the option to select from manufacturer’s blends, or to make their own custom combination from a vast library of color choices. Stan says Creekbed, an earth-toned blend, and Wombat, a black/white/gray blend, are two of their most popular combinations.
“Clients can bring a swatch or work with my color palette of chips,” he says. “We strive to provide a color combination that satisfies everyone’s style, whether that means coordinating with your decor or creating a dazzling focal point.”
As part of the preparation process, Superior Garage Floors will fill all cracks and holes and also pre-treat any existing oil and gas stains. When a client is on the schedule, it generally takes two days to install a new floor surface. Once they have the surface ready, the team will apply a basecoat with the client’s choice of color and flakes. Generally, it is another two days before a homeowner can put their possessions back in their garage, and they can expect to have full use within a week.
Superior Garage Floors makes solid floors built on a solid promise. They care about their neighbors and keep their word to the people they are serving in Central Oregon.

Pursuit of Perfection::
Custom Metal Cabinetry from Baldhead Cabinets
A dream garage is not about the toys inside. It is about the abundant pursuits and activities that can be had in the space itself. It is an extension of the dream home, but unlike the softer interior dwelling areas, it is a space focused on utility and durability. A garage becomes the go-to venue for activities such as woodworking, working on engines, or watching a game on TV. It is a place to fix things, exercise, contemplate, and relax in peace.
Baldhead Cabinets makes high-end custom metal cabinets. The design team asks customers how they see themselves using their garages, and builds cabinets that work exactly as they envisioned. Whether the dream garage is a large mechanic’s shop with functional storage for tools and gear and a sink to wash up, or a lounge area with a mini-fridge and built-in tv, or a combo of both of those uses, the Bend-based company designs, manufactures, and installs cabinets that bring garage dreams to life.
“Some customers come to Baldhead with a plan in place and every last detail worked out exactly how they want it. Others contact Baldhead via the email form on their website and make broad inquiries like, “I have a three-car garage and I need cabinets.”
–Peter Fleming, C.O.O., Baldhead Cabinets
Baldhead Cabinets means family. Eric and Bobbie Fleming founded the company in 1985 with their first metal product. Today, their son, Peter, designs custom cabinet systems. Baldhead believes that relationships and trust matter, that there are no shortcuts to quality, and that generosity is contagious.
When they renovated their family garage, the Flemings found the need for high-quality custom cabinets. They continue to apply that same standard to their products today. Peter Fleming, Baldhead’s Chief Operating Officer, explains, “It’s not in our nature to make cabinets of any lower quality than what we’d be proud of in our own garage.” He adds, “Each garage is different, and it’s really fun dreaming with our customers and asking, ‘What do you want? What do you need?’”
Some customers come to Baldhead with a plan in place and every last detail worked out exactly how they want it. Others contact Baldhead via the email form on their website and make broad inquiries like, “I have a three-car garage and I need cabinets.” The design team then begins learning about who they are, what they do, and how they’ll use the space. Either the same day or the next, the designers show possibilities of cabinets that look good based on measurements, photos, windows, and other characteristics of each unique garage. Baldhead’s customers trust them with their dreams, and customers can trust that the company will design the best cabinets for their garages.
Baldhead cabinets are sleek, functional, and durable. They are made of two panels of formed 18-gauge steel for maximum structural integrity. They offer resistance-free smooth drawers with full extension ball bearing slides, soft-close door hinges, and three options for handles. The shelves are fully adjustable for endless storage options. There are 13 color options in addition to stainless, and there is an option to create custom colors as well. Countertops can be butcher block or stainless steel, and all of the cabinets are powder coated in-house with a durable light-texture matte finish that is easy to maintain.
Quality is a priority at Baldhead, not just for their products but also for service. They routinely install cabinets all over the country. Baldhead is proud to be able to offer the full service of design, manufacturing, and installation of cabinets. The in-house installation process is very unique to the custom cabinetry business and is a welcome inclusion for clients who want full service, start-to-finish. Clients who opt to have Baldhead do their install can simply open the garage door and let the crew do the rest.
“I really enjoy the installation part of the process because it’s where our design comes together in our customer’s home. It’s where I can see how everything is carried through, and how it takes shape as the end product.”
–Peter Fleming, C.O.O., Baldhead Cabinets
Peter says, “I really enjoy the installation part of the process because it’s where our design comes together in our customer’s home. It’s where I can see how everything is carried through, and how it takes shape as the end product.” Baldhead generally can install cabinets within one or two days max, which is much more efficient than hiring a skilled tradesman or contractor who is not familiar with the product.
Baldhead Cabinets are made in Bend, Oregon, which allows the Flemings to ensure their high quality. All manufacturing and powder coating happen in Bend, and virtually all components are made in the U.S.A. That means Baldhead can deliver consistent quality with a shorter lead time—on average six weeks. Recently, Baldhead expedited a commercial project for a contractor in California who had been quoted 12-14 weeks from another vendor. Baldhead was able to deliver in just two weeks. Peter regards that project a fun challenge that kept everyone on their toes. He points out that, “If we outsourced, we would lose our flexibility.”
A dream garage for some may be a lounge space with a sink, a mini-fridge, and a flat-screen TV. For others, it could be a mechanic’s shop with a lot of space for tools and a large workbench for a variety of projects. Baldhead Cabinets are a sleek backdrop for the modern man cave. They are extremely functional and high-quality. Most importantly, they help organize your space so that you can more fully enjoy the personal satisfaction that comes from achieving your dreams.
