“The arts council of Big Sky’s dedication to community and to making the arts accessible to everyone inspires our team. We’re honored to help shape the next chapter with the Big Sky Center for the Arts.”
-Maura Trumble, Partner, CCY Architects

Founded in 1989, the mission of the Arts Council of Big Sky (ACBS) is to enrich the community through artistic experiences. The ACBS is overseen by a board of directors representing all sectors of the Big Sky community, staffed by creative and qualified nonprofit professionals, and supported by a team of active volunteers. Key efforts include presenting music, film, theater and other events; offering art workshops and educational programs for people of all ages; and establishing a lasting and impactful public art program.
In the fall of 2024, the Arts Council purchased a building in the Big Sky Town Center and reopened it as the Big Sky Center for the Arts in February of 2025. Since then, the ACBS has partnered with more than 40 community organizations to host more than 75 programs, including classes, workshops, and events. An ongoing capital campaign is raising money for an ambitious remodel of the existing building, adding a second floor, roof-top patio, radio station broadcast area, art gallery, pottery studio, dedicated youth classroom, three multipurpose rooms, and even more event space.

Emerson Center for the Arts & Culture

“The Emerson is such an important part of what makes Bozeman a special place to live. The center brings together art, culture, creativity, and community under one roof, creating opportunities for people of all ages to connect and be inspired. Having served on the board, I’ve seen firsthand the passion and commitment that goes into making the Emerson a vibrant part of our community.”
-Dave Cole, Palisade Financial

Based in a historic building in downtown Bozeman, the Emerson Center for the Arts & Culture builds community through arts and culture. A favorite of locals and visitors alike, the Emerson offers year-round programming for all ages, public art galleries, community events, and rental spaces for creatives, all in a convenient, centralized location.

gALLATIN iCE

“We support Gallatin Ice because of what it brings to the community. The organization provides so many opportunities for countless people through kid’s programs, figure skating, adult hockey leagues, curling, competitive MSU teams, and semi-pro hockey. Whether someone is a fan or skater, Gallatin Ice has something for everyone.”
-Luke Bing, Principal, Blue Ribbon Builders

Gallatin Ice is a nonprofit providing recreational indoor ice facilities, programs, and live hockey to the Gallatin Valley. Their mission is to keep the participation and enjoyment of ice sports affordable, accessible, and attainable for all.
Gallatin Ice has announced a major project to upgrade the facility into a world-class arena for Bozeman and the Gallatin Valley. Starting in 2026, the arena will undergo an $8.1M transformation to add seating for up to 1,500 fans, build a mezzanine level restaurant and pub with a viewing balcony, expand restrooms through-out the facility, add an executive suite, and more. A portion of the total project will be funded by naming rights and seat sponsorships, a perfect opportunity for businesses and community members to make their mark on “The Coolest Place in Town”.
