Alpine Theatre Project has brought professional theatre starring Broadway performers to Whitefish since 2004, pairing mainstage productions with youth programs that train the next generation on the same stage. This December, the valley’s holiday tradition, Yuletide Affair, returns for its 23rd year with 12 Broadway pros, a live band, tap dancing, hijinks, and mischief. Beyond the spotlight, ATP’s Broadway Summer Camp, ATP Kids productions, and scholarship support make professional-level arts training accessible to families across the Flathead Valley. It’s proof that a town of 9,600 can offer something most cities can’t: Broadway is closer than you think.

Through advocacy, education, networking, workforce development, and community events, FBA works to keep the building industry strong across northwest Montana. Glacier Symphony Orchestra and Chorale (GSOC) exists to perform classical symphonic, popular, and choral music at the highest level, striving to provide a vital cultural, educational, and economic asset for the people in the Flathead Valley and beyond. Now in its 44th season: America 250 and Masterworks, GSOC is presenting a wide variety of masterworks, pops, and holiday concerts, perfect for music lovers of all ages. In addition to the concert series, GSOC is continuing its community initiatives: Symphony Storytime at the library, Heartstrings at Logan Health, Youth Music Experience for our local schools, and our free youth and student tickets!

Habitat for Humanity
Habitat Flathead creates homeownership opportunities for working families across the Flathead Valley. Since 1989, it has built 76 homes, which have helped families build strength, stability, and resilience here in the Flathead. Right now, it is finishing 11 homes in Columbia Falls, and breaking ground on its first four homes in Whitefish in 15 years! Through GROUNDED IN WHITEFISH, the organization is working with the community to build 100 affordable homes over the next decade. Everyone is invited to come volunteer with Habitat in Whitefish and Columbia Falls. Habitat also expects to welcome everyone for six home dedications just before the Christmas and New Year holidays.

Whitefish Community Foundation fosters philanthropy, builds endowments, and helps donors and nonprofits benefit the greater Flathead Valley. Every summer, the Foundation hosts its annual Great Fish Community Challenge, bringing the community together to support local nonprofits. Since 2015, the Challenge has raised over $50 million for local nonprofits.
Year-round, the Foundation builds stronger, more sustainable nonprofits through grants, training, and capacity-building programs, while helping local donors make an impact with donor-advised funds, the Montana Endowment Tax Credit, and charitable estate planning.
