WHAT SERVICES DO YOU OFFER?

SCOTT: We design high-end custom homes that are deeply connected to the land and the way our clients live; our work is less about the “scope” and more about creating timeless, quality architecture at any scale.


WHAT GEOGRAPHIC AREA(S) DO YOU SERVE?

JAMIE: We have no boundaries but work generally in the western and southern portions of the U.S.


DO YOU HAVE ANY SPECIAL CERTIFICATIONS OR SPECIALTIES?

JAMIE: We are both NCARB, AIA, and LEED AP.


What is your architectural and educational background?

JAMIE: I have a master’s degree in architecture from Montana State University with 20+ years in construction and architectural fields.

SCOTT: I have a bachelor’s degree in architecture from Louisiana State University with a minor in construction management.

DESCRIBE YOUR PROCESS—HOW DO YOU WORK WITH CLIENTS, CONTRACTORS, AND INTERIOR DESIGNERS?

SCOTT: I see the architect’s role as being the quarterback of the team. We listen to the client, bring in the right collaborators, and keep everyone aligned so the process feels seamless and the end results exceed expectations.


DO YOU HAVE FAVORITE MATERIALS OR ARCHITECTURAL DETAILS TO USE OR A STYLE YOU PREFER OR ARE KNOWN FOR?

JAMIE: We focus our efforts on natural materials with an emphasis on wellness and high quality.

SCOTT: We emphasize timeless, natural materials like wood, stone, and premium metals; these materials age well, are durable in harsh climates, and never go out of style.


WHAT MAKES THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A GOOD HOUSE AND
A GREAT HOUSE?

JAMIE: A great house is a result of an extensive design process including experts in every trade from design and engineering to construction and high-end craftsmanship.


WHAT WORD(S) DO PEOPLE USE TO DESCRIBE YOUR WORK?

JAMIE: Beautiful, stunning, well-planned.

SCOTT: Intentional, timeless, thoughtful.


WHEN DID YOU KNOW THAT YOU WANTED TO BE AN ARCHITECT AND WHAT MOTIVATED YOU?

JAMIE: My father was a builder and my mother sold real estate. Being exposed to the industry from a young age, I always sought out the pinnacle of the industry, which I saw as the field of architecture.

SCOTT: At a young age I always had a fascination with art and the built environment. I imagined myself as a designer and builder and found the outlet in the field of architecture.


HOW DO YOU SEE ARCHITECTURE CHANGING IN THE FUTURE?

JAMIE: Architecture is rooted in the actual physical world and will always be unique in that the structures we design must stand up to the real world. Where advances and changes are happening quickly include advancements in material and technology and artificial intelligence and conceptual design.


IF YOU WEREN’T AN ARCHITECT, WHAT WOULD YOU BE DOING?

JAMIE: I’d be flying planes.

SCOTT: I would be a home builder or working with the land. Being outside is a passion of mine.


DO YOU HAVE A FAVORITE SPORT OR RECREATIONAL ACTIVITY?

JAMIE: I love being in the wilderness, hunting or hiking and exploring.

SCOTT: LSU sports, hunting, camping, and spending time with family.


WHAT DO YOU ENJOY MOST ABOUT LIVING & WORKING WHERE YOU DO?

JAMIE: I love the work-life balance and being able to enjoy the beauty of the Mountain West.

SCOTT: The landscape and the people. Living out West is a slice of heaven on earth.
